Local poet, Bud Kenny, will emcee “Jazz in the Streets” in September.

Hot Springs icon Bud Kenny will emcee the JazzFest’s “Jazz in the Streets” free outdoor event Saturday, September 1 from 11am-6pm under the Broadway sky bridge. Bud was the founder and current host of Hot Springs’ Wednesday Night Poetry which has not missed a Wednesday since February 1, 1989.

Over the past 30 years he has emceed numerous poetry and musical events in this area and elsewhere across America. In 2001, Bud left here on foot with Della the mule headed for the coast of Maine. During that 2½ year journey he produced roadside poetry shows.

His memoir of that adventure “Footloose in America – Dixie to New England” is available at Amazon.com.
The 27th Hot Springs JazzFest (Aug 30-Sept 2) is produced by the Hot Springs Jazz Society (HSJS) and presented in venues throughout Hot Springs National Park with entrance ranging from Free to $55.
