Local Author Holds Book Signing December 5

For singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ricko Donovan, novel writing is a passion that has intertwined with music. After transitioning from a life of touring as a Nashville musician, Donovan found the time and inspiration to dive deeper into storytelling.

Sun of Sunnyville, published by Wild Card Press/Ingram, will be released on November 21. It is the eagerly awaited follow-up to Sunnyville, which Nashville Lifestyles Magazine touted as “a delightful, engaging read that allows you to fully appreciate everything good in your life, body and soul.”

In this compelling new book, readers are introduced to a vibrant yet eccentric group of characters grappling with existential angst, all set against the backdrop of a retirement community in 2004 in the fictional town of Sunnyville, Florida.

Readers can enjoy the new book independently, free from any spoilers, yet it harmoniously echoes the overarching themes found in the first book.

In both, we meet people getting up there in age and facing their mortality. Donovan’s characters are all at once conflicted, flawed, and sympathetic. “My favorite stories are the ones that have the capacity to make you both laugh and cry,” says Donovan. “That’s what I shoot for in my own work.”

On Thursday, December 5, at 6 pm, Black Ribbon Books, located in the Arlington Hotel, 239 Central Avenue, will host a book launch and signing with the author. Attendees can enjoy refreshments while mingling with fellow book enthusiasts.

Both titles will be available for purchase, a perfect opportunity to add to your collection or find the perfect gift for a friend. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate literature and connect with the author in an inviting atmosphere!
