Whittington Gallery and TAG Team up to “Hang” Around Town

The Traditional Art Guild of Hot Springs (TAG) has joined forces with Whittington Gallery and Studios to support the growing art scene in our beloved city. This is all about local artists supporting local businesses while they all support the arts in Hot Springs.

There are several locations in town that have art on their walls created by TAG members and this is expanding. If any business owner is interested in having their own mini-gallery of local art, curated and managed by TAG/Whittington, contact Suzanne Kriesant at TraditionalArtGuild@gmail.com.

Whittington Gallery, 307 Whittington Ave, is happy to announce the naming of the newly renovated annex in honor of TAG member and longtime Whittington supporter, Lauren Knowles. She passed away from cancer this October. Lauren’s creative gifts and kind presence will be missed. TAG is honored to be the first group hanging in the Lauren Knowles Annex Gallery (LKAG).

Come to Whittington Gallery for the November 1st Gallery Walk and help choose the favorite piece of art. TAG’s 2019 People’s Choice Exhibition will be for love and “bragging rights.” The top 3 will be awarded ribbons at 8 pm. This art will be available for purchase.

The last TAG meeting of the year is November 21, 10am-Noon, at the Garland County Library. Leigh Vashey, a local watercolor artist and talented art instructor, will be sharing some of her process at this meeting.

Art of the Month will resume at the January 16, 2020 meeting (any media or form, open to all, including brand new members, with the winning art displayed at the Whittington the following month.)

TAG: Celebrating art and supporting artists since 1963. Dues are $25 per year. Find them on Facebook: Traditional Art Guild or email TAG president, Suzanne Kriesant at TraditionalArtGuild@gmail.com.
