The Authentic Self Seeks to Open Doors to Difficult Conversations

By Erin Wood

Little Rock’s new nonprofit, The Authentic Self, will host programming designed to stimulate the mind and help each of us step into our authentic selves. The Authentic Self is interested in awakening and increasing the awareness of our eternally evolving nature—individually and as a society, locally and globally.

Founder Anita Davis shares, “Through The Authentic Self, I hope to open doors to difficult conversations that can lead to deeper meaning, connection, and understanding. Hosting workshops, classes, speakers, and ongoing groups, its programming will allow people to come together to investigate how we can step more boldly into our authentic selves so that we can better embrace our unique contributions to a rapidly changing world. While we have been hosting ongoing groups for some months, we are excited to celebrate our official launch with thought leader Ruby Warrington—someone who is asking tough questions that challenge cultural conventions. I hope you’ll engage in conversation with her while she is in Little Rock on October 10!”

British thought leader, founder of The Numinous, podcast host of Sober Curious, and HarperCollins author Ruby Warrington will offer a thought-provoking talk based on her trending 2019 book, Sober Curious: The Blissful Sleep, Greater Focus, Limitless Presence, and Deep Connection Awaiting Us All On The Other Side of Alcohol.

Warrington’s October 10 talk will be held at 5:30 pm at the ESSE Center, located behind ESSE Museum & Store in the SoMa neighborhood of downtown Little Rock. “Ruby Warrington: The Future is Sober Curious” tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Purchase tickets on the Facebook event page or through this Eventbrite link: http://bit.ly/Ruby_at_ESSE. Connect with The Authentic Self on Facebook and Instagram at @theauthenticselflr.
