Auditions for “The Nutcracker Ballet” are September 12.
The Hot Springs Children’s Dance Theatre Co. (HSCDTC) invites local dancers ages 4 and up to audition for its upcoming holiday production of the beloved classic, The Nutcracker. Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s original 1816 story, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King,” this stunning production offers aspiring performers a unique opportunity to share the stage with guest professional dancers and gain invaluable experience in a theatrical setting.
Auditions will take place on Saturday, September 12, at Studio Techniques, located at 112 Blackhawk Lane, Suite B, Hot Springs. The audition schedule is strictly organized by age group to ensure a focused environment:
- Ages 4–8: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
- Ages 9–12: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Ages 13 and older: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
All prospective dancers must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time slot to complete registration. A $15 non-refundable audition fee is required at the door. To comply with safety policies, a parent or guardian must be present to sign required waiver forms for any dancer under 18 years of age.
The audition format will run as a structured ballet class. Participants must strictly adhere to the designated dress code. Female dancers are required to wear a black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, and have their hair slicked back into a classical bun; intermediate and advanced dancers should bring pointe shoes. Male dancers should wear tights, shorts, or sports pants, and a standard T-shirt.
