The Garland County Library welcomes the change of season to fall. One thing that won’t fall, however, is the library’s ambitions to deliver its area with quality programming throughout the year.
You may be familiar with the Natural History Education Company of the Midsouth or NHECM. They have hosted several live animal wildlife programs at the library over the years. On Friday, November 8th at 6pm, a fresh, ages 18+ friendly twist on the popular series is being sponsored by the library.
The NHECM Wildlife Program for Adults is happening off-site, thanks to our partners at Low Key Arts. Presenter Bob Tarter will give a crude and hilarious, but educational performance. Live animals include a pot-bellied pig, python, and many more. Low Key Arts will be selling alcoholic beverages for guests aged 21+. Registration is required. Register online at gclibrary.com or call 501-623-4161.
One of the most appealing aspects of the fall/holiday season is the food. With that said, cooking can be stressful, and eating can come with guilt. But that doesn’t have to be the case.
Check out both the Master Gardeners: Cooking with Herbs on Wednesday, November 13th at 1pm, and the Garland County Extension Office: Keeping the Holidays Healthy, on Monday, November 18th at 2pm, to learn more about holiday cooking and dieting, respectively. Both programs will have free samples.
A variety of other programs are happening at the library itself in November. Some have limited availability – including Intro to Digital Photography, Beginner Guitar, and an exciting new Creative Re-Use Club.
All programs listed here require registration. Visit the library online at www.gclibrary.com or call the library at 501-623-4161 or 501-922-4483 for information about special events, library collections, or library services. The library is located at 1427 Malvern Avenue in Hot Springs.
