09-2018 Resentment or Empowerment?

By Peggy Lindsey

In the routines of life, we sometimes fall into feeling stuck as we think about all of the “have to’s” . . . I have to go to work and pay the bills. I have to cook and clean all the time. I have to take the kids to practice. I have to participate in this event. And the list goes on. This approach zaps our energy and our mood plummets. And then resentment creeps in!

So, let’s shift our satisfaction with our experiences and re-examine our life with fresh eyes and begin making choices based on our preferences!

Ask yourself, what would you do if there was no fear of judgment? If you had no one you felt you needed to please? If you knew for sure everything would turn out fine? Would you choose differently?

With this understanding now, what do you really want to bring forward in life? Is anything coming forth due to a sense of duty, responsibility, or personal integrity? If so, truly decide you are now doing those things because you choose to, not because you have to!

When you recognize everything is a choice – your thoughts, feelings, and actions – you heal resentment! It is how you shift from victim-hood to self-responsibility and begin to embrace your innate and authentic power as the creator of your life experience. It moves you from resistance to acceptance. Choice is your empowerment in action!
