GC Library Summer Reads

Summer Reading at the Library

Free books. Free movies. Free wi-fi. Free air conditioning. Do you need more reasons to come to the
library this summer? How about free programs that appeal to all ages? It’s not just about programs for restless kids
on summer vacation. The Garland County Library has something going on just about daily for everyone.

Here’s a list of some July programs for adults that might just surprise you:

Sunday Movie Matinees – We show free movies almost every Sunday. This month we’re showing Hostiles
(2017); Marshall (2017); Game Night (2018); I, Daniel Blake (2016); and Call Me By Your Name (2017). Some of
these are rated R and we follow MPAA guidelines restricting access to those under 17. Movies start at 1:30 p.m.
All Things Fiber – Every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. fiber artists and crafters come together to work on their
projects, help each other with issues, and show off their work.

Bluegrass Jam – We host a monthly jam session for acoustic players of all ages and skill levels. First
Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. Hot Springs Police Department K-9 Demonstration – We’ve done this in the past for kids and teens. The 5:30 p.m. session on July 11th is for adults only. (We love kids, but sometimes adults want a program just for them.)

Other programs include – Know It to Grow It: Power Tools, Craft Club, Understanding Alzheimer’s and
Dementia, Richard Stephens’ Water Color Class, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission: Birds of Prey, Basic
Bicycle Maintenance, and so many more.

Visit the library online at www.gclibrary.com or call the library at 501-623-4161 for more
information about what’s going on at the Garland County Library. The library is located at 1427
Malvern Avenue in Hot Springs.
