Phase One is under way at the David F. Watkins Memorial Park.

The amphitheater seating on the East side of the creek is complete. Bidding is in progress for the construction of the stage portion on the West side of the creek.
Lighting, irrigation, signage, and plantings and other features are ready to go into place once the heavy construction of the stage is finished.

This park is made possible through charitable grants, Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), and donations from individuals as well as organizations. The Hot Springs Civitan Club has pledged to raise $15,000 for the park’s ADA playground equipment and has raised $6,000 towards that goal.

The Park Avenue Community Association (PACA) is partnering with the Hot Springs Parks and Trails Department to seek the Outdoor Recreation Grant to complete the last gaps in funding the park’s design.
Donations can be made via PayPal to WatkinsTunnelPark@gmail.com, or mailed to: Dave Reagan (Treasurer), PO Box 894, Hot Springs, AR 71902.
