There will always be more to learn. Maybe we are well beyond our years in school, and yet Life provides us all with a wide variety of classrooms. Our days are filled with opportunities to learn and grow . . . but are we willing?
Wisdom grows not from talking . . . it grows by listening, by opening up to other options, by being curious. And who are our teachers? Every person who crosses our paths, every challenge we face, and every season of life carries lessons waiting to be embraced.
Our world expands when we ask questions, and we become the richer for it. Our minds sharpen with insight, our hearts soften with understanding, and we allow patience to guide our decisions rather than conceit. By setting aside tunnel vision, we are finally able to see the bigger picture.
When we become teachable, we become vessels for greater wisdom. We begin to see various sides of the same story. We understand that beliefs are formed through pain as well as joy. We grasp that every human experience is unique.
What are the gifts that wisdom and knowledge bring? Peace to our own hearts as we extend compassion to others. It brings insight and provides direction. And perhaps we come to know ourselves in a more profound way.
Charles Kettering once said, “Where there is an open mind, there will always be a frontier.” So, stay curious. Keep learning. Discover something new. Become wiser. Never stop growing.
