Pocket Theatre Stage is Set for The Haunting of Hill House

Hill House cast members Jennifer Horner, Amy Hronek, and Junius Stone prepare set flats.

“I leave before dark comes,” Mrs. Dudley reminds Hill House guest Eleanor Vance when she arrives. Based on the 1959 Gothic horror novel by Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House explores the depths of the human condition and how the power of suggestion can make one susceptible to irrational fear and paranoia.

Dr. Montague’s paranormal crew encounters numerous supernatural events that convince all present that Hill House does indeed have its own agenda. Come see how these intrepid investigators face the apparent fury of evil forces residing at Hill House. Be sure to heed Dr. Montague’s warning, “It may seem incomprehensible to you now, but a place like this…sometimes it can begin to affect you without you really being aware.”

The Pocket Community Theatre, located at 170 Ravine Street in Hot Springs, will perform “The Haunting of Hill House,” adapted for the stage by F. Andrew Leslie and directed by Thomas Griffin. Performances are scheduled for Friday, October 3 and 9, at 7:00 PM; Saturday, October 4 and 11, at 7:00 PM; and Sunday, October 5 and 12, at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Purchase tickets on their website at pockettheatre.com, or call 501-623-8585.
