Know Your “Why”

By Peggy Lindsey
Life’s routine is often mundane as we go through the motions. At times these activities no longer feel good to us . . . we can become disinterested, or even anxious and resentful of them. When this happens, start asking yourself, “Why am I doing this?” Dig deep as you ponder this question. Maybe you won’t have a good reason, or maybe you will discover what you are doing is actually rooted in love.

You don’t like housekeeping chores, but you like a clean home. Your job is unpleasant, but you enjoy the income and benefits. Cooking is a chore, but you enjoy tasty meals. The difficulties of caregiving may weigh on you, but you deeply love the one you are caring for. When we dig deep, we find the love beneath them.

The worldly chaos is difficult right now . . . wars, disasters, division . . . and we are feeling distressed about it all and not handling it very well. Try asking, “Why am I so upset?” Again, dig deep. You will find the foundation of it all is love. You love humanity, harmony, peace, and truth. When we focus more on our “why,” we can create more goodness.

Ann Albers, channeling the Angels, shared this message from them, “Dig beneath the burdens, the complaints, the unwanted circumstances – and find the loving why underneath. Focus there as often as you can. Not only will you feel better, but what you see and attract will start to shift for the better.”

So, let’s start asking the question “why,” and love ourselves through the process.
