“VOV 21st Anniversary Tiger”

Artist: Shelby Wylie

(Fountain Lake Charter High School)

When Low Key Arts (LKA) music festivals hit town, we often look to Sonny Kay, Executive Director of LKA, for inspiration for our cover art.

When we asked if he had anything stunning in the art vault for Valley of the Vapors Music Festival he came up with this terrific tiger feature they’re using for Valley of the Vapors Music Festival (VOV). Here’s what he had to say about it.

“I recently visited Fountain Lake Charter High School to talk about local career path options through organizations such as Low Key Arts. In the art department, one student’s work jumped out at me from among the many, many works on display, exhibiting a confidence and refinement I didn’t expect to see in a high school.

“That student is Shelby Wylie and we couldn’t be happier about handing her the reins with our festival design this year. The tiger was entirely her idea and instantly felt like VOV! Who knows, this might even be the start of a new tradition for the festival.”

Thanks to Sonny and Shelby for their time and talent in presenting us with this ferocious cover! To learn more about the lineup for VOV, see page 3 of this issue – next page, as a matter of fact!

Have loads of Luck ‘o the Irish this month as we March into spring…
