Under-used Computers Gain a New Life

Computers 4 Kids refurbishes your donated computers.

The non-profit Computers 4 Kids Plus program receives donated laptop or desktop computers so they can be completely wiped of any files or data and refurbished for use by another local individual. The latest version of Windows or Linux will be installed at a very nominal cost to the new user since C4K+ has been a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher for over 13 years.

Most of the recipients of the refurbished computers are individuals actively involved in some type of education program. Recent redistribution of refurbished computers has benefitted individuals within public school districts in Arkansas, graduates of state-licensed recovery programs, incarceration release programs, community college students, participants in state-funded economically challenged groups, non-profit adult education centers, and clients of AR Department of Workforce Services.

Anyone donating a laptop can receive an official “Wipe Certificate” and a receipt for tax purposes. Once arrangements have been made for a local drop off or home pick up, the folks from C4K+ will bring the items to their refurbishment facility in Hot Springs Village, AR so that they can begin a second life providing access to the internet and to the world of employment education.

Information about the C4K+ program is available at C4KPlus.org. There, you will find a Computer Donation form and a Computer Request form. Or, reach out for information by email at c4k@uuvc.org
