November Haiku at the Arlington

Illinois poet Lee Gurga is one of the featured poets at the Haiku Conference.

The Haiku Society of America convenes its annual South Region Conference at the Arlington Hotel on Friday and Saturday, November 11-12, 2022. The conference is open to the public. World-famous haiku poets will attend.

If you are interested in learning haiku from the masters, this is a great opportunity. Charles Trumbull of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Lee Gurga from Illinois will be the featured poets. Natalie Goldberg may appear, though unlikely at this point.

There is no charge to attend. The conference runs from 9 AM-Noon. Then guests will take a lunch break at World Buffet from 2 PM – 5 PM on both days.

The conference is hosted by the Arkansas Haiku Society, founded in 1997 in the home of the late Arkansas Poet Laureate Verna Lee Hinegardner. Dr. Paul Tucker served as president from 1997 – 2017. Howard Lee Kilby is the current president. For information contact hkilby@hotmail.com or 501-767-6096.
