Happiness Actions: How to Handle Really Bad News

We can choose daily to condition our minds with the positive thoughts.

By Christi Nation
I had a setback out of my control the morning after finding out I had to have a mastectomy for breast cancer. With the combination of learning challenging news two days in a row, I was angry, hurt, having a pity party, you name it. When I am scared, I choose a scarcity mindset. When thinking through what can be gained from bad news, I switch to an abundance mindset.

Like attracts like. It is impossible to hold a positive and negative thought in your mind at the same time. I slipped into despair and anger in my response to double bad news. Luckily, I chose another response after deep thought — How can this experience help others? I choose daily to condition my mind with the positive thoughts. If you are going through a hard time, I hope you make that choice each day, too.

Until next time, here are your Happiness Actions:
1. Know there is no way to avoid the obstacles, but you CAN creatively overcome them and be better than you were in the first place.
2. You can either let your mind torture you or you can use it for good and create vision.
3. You can choose abundance or scarcity.
