LKA’s Movers and Makers Free to View on Facebook

Low Key Arts’ (LKA) new online virtual interview series, Movers and Makers, debuted in October and has attracted viewers from all over the U.S. Hosted by LKA Executive Director, Sonny Kay, the series presents in-depth conversations with artists, musicians, and instigators contributing to popular culture through their work and their lifestyles.

Episode Three features Robin Laananen, a photographer/tour manager who has devoted a decade to trekking around the world with groups like Refused, The Locust, and Modest Mouse. In 2017, Laananen issued the first book of her work documenting her adventures traveling with the group, Warpaint. She discusses her career and travels with some of the most provocative bands in music. This discussion takes place Thursday, Dec. 10, at 6:00 pm.

Episode Four features Jessie Evans, live from Ubatuba, Brazil! A founding member of San Francisco’s Subtonix, Evans fronted goth trio, The Vanishing, before moving to Berlin, where she collaborated with Malaria!’s Bettina Köster. In 2013, she moved to Sao Paulo, releasing solo records and collaborating with an even wider range of artists. This discussion takes place Thursday, Dec. 17, at 6:00 pm.
