Library Launches Fall Reading Festival for Kids and Teens

Great prizes await participants in the Fall Reading Festival at GC Library.

The Garland County Library launches its first ever Fall Reading Festival for kids and teens ages 18 and under. Unlike the Summer Reading Program which has participants log minutes they spend reading throughout the summer, the Fall Reading Festival requires participants to complete certain tasks to earn tickets for raffle prizes. Each time a task is completed, the participant gets one ticket to apply to a drawing for great prizes. 

Tasks in the Fall Reading Festival include reading books about certain topics, like a favorite animal, a biography, or a book about a different culture. Other tasks involve using the library’s website to watch a book trailer on BookFlix, borrowing a book on OverDrive or Hoopla, and completing a craft project with Creativebug. 

The Fall Reading Festival runs through November 30th. Prize drawings will be held the beginning of December. Prizes include gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ulta, Will’s Cinnamon Shop, and Kilwins. Other prizes include wireless earbuds, LEGOs, a Kindle Fire tablet, and more.
