Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet Presented at Farmers Market

The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre (AST) Fall Tour will stop in Hot Springs with their production of Romeo & Juliet on Sunday, October 27, at 4pm. Shakespeare at the Market is sponsored by Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance (HSACA) in partnership with Garland County Library and the City of Hot Springs and is made possible thanks to a generous grant from Wells Fargo.

The performance will be held at the Hot Springs Farmers Market and is a free, family-friendly production.

According to HSACA Board Chair, Ashley Campbell, “Again this year, age friendly adaptations of Shakespeare’s works will be given to youth, reinforcing the goal of the family friendly production – to make Shakespeare approachable and encourage a love of literature.”

The Hot Springs Renaissance Faire will also be a part of the fun this year and will have fun and games beginning at 3pm. Itz Gud Food will be on hand selling tasty eats and guests are advised to bring chairs or blankets.

As Arkansas’s only professional Shakespeare Company, the AST is a major educational force producing vibrant, lively and provocative performances for all Arkansans. For more information, call 501-321-2027.
