Earth Angels

By Peggy Lindsey

Every year the dawning of December ushers in the hustle and bustle of holiday cheer! From cups of hot cocoa to strings of twinkling lights, people of all ages dive into the joy of festive traditions.

Amidst all the merriment though, something deeper occurs . . . our character softens as we shift gears inside. As the gentle tug beckons our hearts to open wide, we ask ourselves thoughtfully, “What can I do to spread some good cheer?” and awaken the earth angel within?

Earth angels across the globe answer that call by spreading love, scattering kindness, and offering compassion to all whose joy has been lost. Tender words do so empower and comfort while gentleness touches a tired body and spirit. Such brilliance of love-light shining so brightly allows hope to find its way back home once again!

So, what is your heart calling you to do? It can be so simple, you know. A compliment, a kind gesture, a smile or a hug can make all the difference to one special soul. Baking sweet cookies or serving a hot meal, donating a scarf or sheltering a cold animal . . . all lift up smiles and transform tired souls.

And yet as we bestow such goodness to others, we pray that our own earth angels will shine on us, too, to help ease our way.

So, if you choose to step into an earth angel’s shoes, know it will be much more than packages you deliver. For as we offer our love and kindness to others, we too, will experience the most magical of gifts . . . that of sweet peace and good will to all!

From my heart to yours, may each of you be blessed with a wondrous season of joy!
