Light UpTown!

September 10th Uptown Will “Flip the Switch” on Seven New Street Lights

Exciting things are happening “Uptown” on Park Avenue. Eight lights have been purchased and are in place for this area due to generous donations from members of the community.

Mark September 10, 2018 on your calendar. The Park Avenue Community Association (PACA) and the Summerfest committee will gather in the parking lot of Dollar General at 899 Park Avenue to “flip the switch” on the newest installment of lights. The public is welcome to attend this historic “illuminating” event.

Other exciting events Uptown include a future fundraiser for more street lights (only 70 more to go at $5,000 each) on 9/28/18. Location to be announced early in September. Next up is the Slow Roll on November 16th. The ribbon cutting will be at 3pm, Slow Roll begins at 5pm and there will be a celebration event at Low Key Arts at 6:15pm, 112 Edgewood St.

“There has been a great resurgence in this area over the last 5 years and, with the help of our community and partnerships, we look forward to it continuing,” said Hannah Mills, Summerfest Committee chair.

Those who would like to be part of this historic community collaboration (and we hope you will), may participate in any of these events. You may also become a partner by sending your gift to PACA, PO Box 435, Hot Springs, AR 71902. You can also give via the Light Uptown PayPal account: SummerFestUptown@gmail.com.

Ask how you can have a plaque with your name on one of the poles, for a donation as little as $500. Of course, any amount given is truly appreciated and will help with this goal.

How about challenging your colleagues (banks, title companies, real estate companies, restaurant owners, etc.) to meet the $5,000 mark – wouldn’t that be great to have all the community working for one common goal? Let’s Light UpTown!! For more information, call Angie Ezekiel 501-655-1255 or Hannah Mills 501-282-1872.
