Angeles Arrien writes about royalty cards in her book, THE TAROT HANDBOOK. She provides a way to find your personal Royalty Card, which you could use as a Significator for any reading. As an added bonus, learning about this card can help clarify personal characteristics you are meant to develop and practice in this lifetime. This card may also indicate natural gifts, talents, or inner resources that come naturally to you in life.
To find your Royalty Card, print your name the way you usually write it, the name you use when you think of yourself. Count the letters in your name. If the total is higher than 16, add the two digits together. For example, 27 is 2+7=9. If your number is ten, you have two guides: 10 and 1(1+0). You can find your Royalty Significator card using the chart below.

Name changes may add to or subtract from your original number. A new Royalty/Significator card indicates new talents, gifts, and resources you are challenged to master. For various names you have used, simply count the letters and refer to the chart. A change in your number correlates with a turning point in your life. You have an opportunity to actualize another aspect of yourself, indicated by the new Royalty Card.
