Pocket Theatre Invites Audiences to Wait Until Dark

A trio of desperate criminals infiltrates Susan’s Greenwich Village apartment, determined to get what they want in Wait Until Dark, written by Frederick Knott and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher. The classic thriller appears next on the main stage at the Pocket Community Theatre, directed by Kevin Day.

“I wanted to do the original version as written by the playwright Frederick Knott, but then I read this revised adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher, and I really liked some of the changes that were made,” Director Kevin Day shared. What begins with a woman seeking to adjust to her recent blindness ends with thrilling consequences as she cleverly finds ways to best her attackers.

Wait Until Dark offers something for everyone, leading the audience through the complicated plot to reveal the trap closing in around Susan, who appears unaware…or is she? Come and find out what happens at the Pocket Community Theatre. Performances are Friday, October 2 and 9 at 7 PM, Saturday, October 3 and 10 at 7 PM, and Sunday, October 4 and 11 at 2 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Wait Until Dark is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatrical.

The Pocket Community Theatre, located at 170 Ravine Street, is a non-profit organization run exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, more specifically for community theatre. They produce six shows each year. This year they’ve added a special production of Woman in Black for Halloween, showing on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 PM and Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2 PM.
