Friends of Hot Springs National Park (FHSNP), the non-profit partner of Hot Springs National Park, is hosting “Red, White & You,” a free family-focused old fashion patriotic “Picnic in the Park” on July 4, from 10:30-4, rain or shine. All the excitement will be on Arlington Lawn, directly across from the Arlington Hotel in downtown Hot Springs.
This fun filled family event features magician Maxwell Blade, juggler Justin Chastant, musician Jacob Flores and folk singer Laura Lee Williard.
All are invited to dress in red, white, and blue. Family activities include a bounce house, games, face painting and educational exhibits by National Park Staff. Picnic food, such as burgers and hot dogs, grilled by celebrity chefs, will be available for purchase.
Friends of Hot Springs National Park has been a major contributor to the vision and accomplishment of restoring bathhouse row, which is the heart of Hot Springs culture and downtown attractions. Its mission is to support the Park by volunteering in the Park, raising awareness of the Park and fundraising.
The current fundraising focus is on the restoration of the three historic areas of the Beautiful Maurice Bathhouse, which is part of the Historic Landmark District. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event will benefit this important project. The Maurice is the last bathhouse on Bathhouse Row to be reopened.
