October’s Issue Is Here—Packed with Local Flavor and Film Fest Highlights!

Our October issue is brimming with exciting events, creative energy, and community celebrations. We’re honored once again to feature the official 16-page Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival Guide, spotlighting the festival and its incredible lineup.

This month’s cover features an evocative photo from the American West taken by Tom Bergmann, cinematographer of the fascinating new documentary The Cowboy, directed by André Hörmann.

The film is the Centerpiece Gala screening at this year’s 34th Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival on Wednesday, October 15, at 7:15 PM at The Arlington. Seen in the photo riding the horse is young Crowley Mccuistion, whose stirring coming of age story from age 11 to 21, is featured in the film.

Special thanks to Richard Stephens for his creative cover design, to Ken Jacobson for his great skills with the red proofing pen, and to Kim Everhart – Have iPad. Will travel.

Inside, you’ll find a full slate of October happenings—from haunted theater productions and seasonal festivals to music, food, and fundraising events. We’re also celebrating the 30th anniversary of our beloved Garland County Library.

Whether you’re going Over the Edge with Jackson House or grabbing a Giant Bavarian Pretzel at Steinhaus between films, there’s something for everyone this month.

Thanks to our Springs Magazine team for bringing another vibrant issue to life. You’re all amazing to work beside. Happy October!
