Join in Celebrating National Library Week with GC Library

Take time to rediscover the offerings at your local library during National Library Week, April 6-12.

What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week (NLW) is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April. Spanning April 6–12, 2025, NLW is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

At the Garland County Library (GCL), we invite the community to join the celebration. Whether you’re a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer.

Our library provides free wi-fi and internet computers; community meeting spaces and study rooms; access to digital newspapers and educational databases; and so many free events for all ages and interests, ensuring that everyone has access to resources that educate, inspire, and connect.

Whatever draws you in, the library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, the GCL is here to support your journey. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.

This National Library Week, take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you’re visiting for books, resources, or a place to connect, GCL is here for you.

The Garland County Library provides free library services to over 100,000 residents of Hot Springs and Garland County. For more information about GCL, visit www.gclibrary.com and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
