AR NICA Mountain Bike Race for Grades 6-12

The Arkansas National Interscholastic Cycling League hosts two days of mountain bike racing at Northwoods Trails, Cedar Glades Park, 461 Wildcat Road, in Hot Springs, on Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6.

The Arkansas Interscholastic Cycling League was organized in 2015 to provide a fun, safe, and high-quality mountain biking program for students in grades 6 to 12. With the cooperation of partners and sponsors, they are able to provide a competitive mountain bike racing experience.

Regardless of ability level, the Arkansas League is committed to providing a positive experience for all student-athletes. Arkansas NICA is part of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association.

One of the great things about a NICA League, which separates it from other youth cycling development programs, is that it produces its own youth-specific events. This means they choose race venues and work directly with land owners and managers to produce the highest quality youth development race courses and events. The student-athletes get a stage of their own, away from adult competitions, and they strive for safety and fun above all other factors.

The Arkansas League will produce 1 Individual Time Trial, 2 Plains Regional events, 2 Plateau Regional events, and a full Mid-Season Classic and State Championship for a total of 7 races in the fall of 2024 in Arkansas.
