Learn How to Make Costumes at Emergent Arts

William Henshaw and Hannah Mills will conduct a costume design workshop.

Emergent Arts is offering a Nutcracker Ballet Costume Design Course from Sept. 22-Nov. 17, on Thursdays 4:30 – 6:30 PM, for ages 13 and up.

This is the opportunity to experience how all the incredible costumes of live theater are designed and created. This special workshop provides students interested in costuming with a unique opportunity to participate in the creation of the costumes for this year’s performance of The Nutcracker by the Hot Springs Children’s Dance Theater Company.

Students will experience the process of designing and creating costumes for a ballet production under the direction of professional costume designers William Henshaw and Hannah Mills. The class will conclude with the public performance of The Nutcracker which will allow students to see the integration of costume design and construction efforts with The Nutcracker performance.

Tuition for this 10-week class is $25. This Costume Design Class is presented in conjunction with Emergent Arts and is underwritten by a Collaborative Project Support Grant from the Arkansas Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.
