Children’s Dance Theatre Holds Ballet Audition for Cinderella

Children ages 5+ are invited to audition for “Cinderella.”

Saturday, February 12, the Hot Springs Children’s Dance Theatre Company will hold auditions for Cinderella at the Techniques Studio, 216 Garrison Road, Hot Springs. All dancers from the ages of 5+ are encouraged to audition for the opportunity to perform in this much-loved storybook ballet. The auditions are open for dancers from the entire community that are interested in a professional experience.

Edmond Cooper, a native of Hot Springs, is a former professional touring performer and acclaimed choreographer. His talent, energy, and vision breathe life in the dance company every day, on all levels.

Students should arrive 30 minutes before the audition time to register. A parent or guardian must be present for students under 18 years of age to sign appropriate waiver forms.

The audition will be held on Saturday, February 12; 9-10 AM for dancers 5-9 years of age; 10:30 –12:00 noon for 10–13 years of age, and 12:00–1:30 PM ages 14 and older. An audition fee of $10 is required.

Part of the obligation of the performers to the Dance Company is to be dedicated to attending rehearsals. Dancers will be learning techniques, requirements of a stage performer, classical theatre training, and choreography specific for the production of Cinderella.

The technical rehearsal week will be May 8 – 12. Students participating will partake in an arts and educational outreach school production performed before local school districts, on May 19 at 10 AM, five open public performances Friday, May 13 and 20 and Saturday, May 14 at 7 PM, and a 1 PM matinee on Saturday the 14 and 21.
