October is here at last, bringing festivals, fall fun, and, hopefully, some cooler days. One of the season’s biggest highlights is the 35th Edition of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, and once again,

The Springs Magazine is honored to include the festival’s official 16-page guide inside this issue.

Our cover features a beautiful image from One in a Million, a documentary already generating plenty of buzz among festivalgoers.

The image captures a quiet, powerful moment that hints at the compelling storytelling audiences have come to expect from the festival’s carefully curated lineup.

It’s the kind of photograph that draws you in, makes you curious, and leaves you wanting to know more. We are especially grateful to Erin Baber, whose stunning cover design showcases the image with elegance and impact.

For 35 years, the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival has brought remarkable true stories and unforgettable voices to our community. That legacy continues this year thanks to the dedication of the HSDFI staff and the many volunteers whose hard work makes the festival possible. Special thanks also to Ken and Kim for their late-night, eagle-eyed proofreading.

Beyond the festival guide, you’ll find plenty of October happenings throughout this issue. And to our incredible Springs Magazine team, thank you for helping bring readers our 418th issue. It truly takes a village. We couldn’t do it without you, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
