Bitty Martin to Speak at AR State Archives Fall Symposium 

“Stories from Arkansas History” includes topics from crime in Hot Springs 

The Arkansas State Archives will host a half-day symposium from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Historic Arkansas Museum. 

“Crime and Consequence: Stories from Arkansas History” will feature speakers Bitty Martin, Susan Young, and Sarah Russell. Topics include crime in Hot Springs, the Cane Hill Murders, and the Life and Death of Helen Spence. 

Refreshments will be provided. Teachers can earn up to 3 professional development hours through attendance. The event is free to attend, but registration is required at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2001069521807?aff=oddtdtcreator.

The Arkansas State Archives is an agency of Arkansas Heritage charged with collecting material bearing on the history of Arkansas from the earliest times; copying and editing official records and other historical material; and encouraging historical work and research by the public.
