We are often caught up dealing with an overfilled to-do list in our daily grind, aren’t we? There is always something to accomplish . . . do the laundry, pay the bills, get to the market, read the book . . . And our minds move non-stop. Yet, murmuring in the background of noise, our hearts ask, “What if?”

“What if” . . . These two words, when brought together, are so powerful. They open the doors of our imagination to look beyond the here and now. They loosen the weight of what seems absolute and allow us to feel the fluidity of life. “What if” becomes the spark of creation, and you are the artist!

Imagine a blank canvas in front of you, ready to receive the touch of your brush. The palette in your hand holds the colors of your thoughts. What will you paint? Will the bright and vibrant colors of your dreams and desires fill the blanket of white before you? Or will the muddy hues of worry and doubt be cast upon it? It depends on the part given the most attention.

You see, we make a decision every moment whether to give attention to the screaming fears of our minds . . . or to the soft whispers of possibility of our hearts. Our lives are a procession of canvases, one given to us every day. And as we move through our tasks at hand, we infuse the brushstrokes of color upon every moment . . . creating still. Such is the power of two little words . . . “What if”.
