The Freedom to Choose Again

By Peggy Lindsey
Our souls know we are free and always will be. However, when we were young, we were taught that we were subject to the influences of others . . . their opinions, ideas, and judgments. We ignored our own inner feelings in the attempt to satisfy others and avoid punishment. But many are now reconnecting with their inner guidance, trusting more their own feelings, and giving themselves permission to exercise the freedom that has always belonged to them.

True freedom isn’t always about brushing against what is happening “out there” in the world. It begins with the choices of our own making. These decisions affect everything we experience in life.

For example, you may exclaim, “People who cut me off in traffic are jerks!” The anger and frustration in your energy draw more of them to you. An alternative would be, “I really enjoy courteous drivers.” This focus opens the doors for kind people to show up. How we respond is our choice.

Here’s another example: “I am always broke and can’t pay my bills.” How does this feel to you? Downright awful, doesn’t it? And yet, we keep saying them, solidifying this energy of doom in our experience.

Let’s turn it around instead. “I enjoy an abundance of sunshine, friends, and time, and resources are making their way to me, too!” Watch what starts to show up in this focus.

The Angels always say, “Shift your story, and you can change your vibration.” You always have the freedom to choose differently . . . again and again.
