The documentary film detailing the story behind the real Bad News Bears of baseball will be screened free for the public on the evening of Friday, August 7, to open the Ninth Annual Hot Springs Baseball Weekend at the Hot Springs Convention Center.

The annual salute to baseball — this year featuring six legends of the game as guests — celebrates Hot Springs’ role as The Birthplace of Major League Baseball Spring Training when scores of baseball’s Hall of Famers trained and played in the Spa City.

The free screening of “The Battered Bastards of Baseball” will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Convention Center’s Horner Hall. The first 200 guests will receive a complimentary Baseball Weekend poster.

For more information, call Derek Phillips at 501-359-2414.
