Historic Ozark Bathhouse Reimagined as Immersive Family Attraction

Experience the hands-on exhibits.

Adventures in learning await visitors to the Mystic Ozark.

The Ozark Bathhouse is home to a new downtown treasure – Mystic Ozark.

The historic Ozark Bathhouse at 425 Central Avenue is now home to Mystic Ozark, an immersive, family-friendly attraction that explores the geothermal wonders of Hot Springs National Park.

Developed by Mid-America Science Museum in partnership with the National Park Service, Mystic Ozark brings history to life through interactive themed environments, water features, projection mapping, and hands-on exhibits.

Located in downtown Hot Springs, the 14,000-square-foot Ozark Bathhouse was originally built in 1922 as part of the city’s Bathhouse Row. After more than five years of planning, Mid-America Science Museum signed a lease agreement through the National Park’s historic leasing program in March to transform the space while preserving its architectural and cultural integrity.

The museum partnered with Process Curiosity, a Utah-based design firm with experience creating immersive exhibits for clients like Disney, Universal Studios, and museums around the world. Their expertise helped shape Mystic Ozark into an engaging destination for visitors of all ages.

“Our mission is to spark curiosity and inspire learning,” said Diane LaFollette, CEO of Mid-America Science Museum. “Mystic Ozark connects people to the history and magic of the park in a dynamic, engaging way.”

“This will be a unique destination that celebrates Hot Springs’ identity and benefits both residents and tourists,” added Romeo Lopez, the new director of Mystic Ozark.
