A Deeper Form of Self-Care

By Peggy Lindsey

There is a deeper form of self-care, and it takes a lot of courage if one is willing to dive in. It is about creating a life you are in love with. Sometimes the process isn’t all that pretty. The first step is being sincerely honest with yourself and to decide right then, that you will no longer run away from your problems or sweep them under the rug.

Changing your life for the better can feel a bit uncomfortable and look a little messy. But when you know your debt is out of hand, or your health is failing, or your relationships are falling apart, you realize it is time for a new strategy.

Maybe change looks like making sacrifices instead of satiating your immediate desires. Perhaps you learn to cook nutritious meals instead of zipping through the fast food drive-thru. Or maybe you adjust your schedule to be more productive so that, in the long run, you get to enjoy more time with your loved ones.

Choosing to take control of your life’s situation is the path toward freedom … releasing stress and anxiety! Creating your life so you can live in a way you have only dreamed about is liberating! Allow yourself to become who and what you are meant to be! Don’t be derailed by distractions … stay the course!

Someone recently shared, “Be someone who knows that salt baths and chocolate are ways to enjoy life – not escape from it.” Life really is meant to be enjoyed! Are you ready to take that first step?
