Call for Artists for Art Moves

A bit of life imitating art as Gin Hartnett poses playfully at a past year’s Art Moves exhibit.

The Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance (HSACA) has issued a call for artists for the third annual Art Moves outdoor art exhibition set to open during the annual 10-day art festival, Arts & The Park, April 29 – May 8, 2022. The theme for the festival and exhibition will be “Creative Roots,” celebrating the varied cultural backgrounds from which Arkansans originate.

Art Moves outdoor exhibition is made up of paintings, drawings, and/or photographs reproduced onto metal panels and displayed along the Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail. Artists are asked to draw inspiration from their own cultural roots and traditions OR our state’s collective cultural heritage for artwork they submit.

A panel of jurors will select up to 15 pieces from the submissions to be reproduced onto metal signs and displayed along the Greenway. The exhibition will open during the festival but will remain up throughout the year with a QR code affixed to the frame to provide information about the artist, artwork and exhibition.

The deadline for entry is March 1. For information or to submit an entry, visit www.hotspringsarts.org/calls-for-artists, www.hotspringsarts.org, or email hsaca@hotspringsarts.org.
