Library to Host Virtual Cake Contest

By Erin Baber
Next time you just have to bake a cake shaped like a teddy bear, Elsa, or a Ninja Turtle, don’t rush out and buy a brand-new cake pan – borrow one for free with your Garland County Library card.

To promote the Library’s growing collection of cake pans, the Library will host a cake contest throughout June. Here’s how it works: borrow a cake pan from the Library, bake a cake (or make a Jell-O mold), and post a picture of your creation on social media using the tag #GCLBakers.

At the conclusion of the contest, random participants will be rewarded with gift cards and baking accessories. Winners will be chosen randomly – not based on their baking or decorating skills. Bakers of all ages may participate.

Looking for some inspiration? Visit catalog.gclibrary.com and search “cake pans” to see all the available pan shapes and place one on hold. It might even be eligible for home delivery.

Learn more about the library at www.gclibrary.com or by calling the library at 501-623-4161. The Library now offers home delivery to most areas in Garland County. Email delivery@gclibrary.com to sign up. Find the library on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
