New Film Added to the Mineral Explorers Series

In his hunt for the world’s finest gems, crystals and minerals, Hot Springs resident and longtime mineral dealer, Thomas Nagin, discovered an entirely new passion – one for documentary filmmaking.

The owner of Crystal Springs Mining Co. & Gallery, Nagin has worked in the mineral trade for more than 40 years. He created Mineral Explorers as a way to share the fascinating world of minerals and to answer the many questions people have about his profession.

An entertaining, travel-adventure series, Mineral Explorers showcases some of the most remote mines on Earth, providing viewers with a glimpse of the mineral trade and the cultures surrounding it.

Over two seasons, Nagin produced 13 episodes which aired on public television stations all across the country – reaching approximately 90 percent of the total U.S market. Several episodes were also featured at the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.

Now Nagin is wrapping up another film project, a documentary on the Pasto Bueno Mine located high in the Andes Mountains of Peru.

Mineral Explorers Seasons 1 and 2 are available online and at Crystal Springs Gallery. The gallery, which has been in business for nearly 20 years, will be closing at the end of 2019 and everything in store is 25-50 percent off. The gallery boasts a stunning array of crystals and minerals, a custom line of gold and silver jewelry, and a huge collection of one-of-a-kind treasures from Nagin’s travels.
