The Most Delicious Month of the Year

Try blueberries in yogurt, fruit salad, or any salad; on waffles, pancakes, and cereal; in muffins, cookies, cakes, and pies; in smoothies or beverages; or just rinse and enjoy munching.

July is here, and along with the celebration of Independence Day, we observe National Blueberry Month. Blueberries are tasty, healthy, and incredibly versatile. You can enjoy them at any time of day, from an early breakfast to a late-night snack, on their own or in a wide variety of sweet and savory recipes. Whatever your mood, you can find the perfect boost of blue!

The United States is the world’s largest producer of blueberries, which are native to North America. In fact, blueberries are among the fastest-growing fruits in popularity among American consumers and are enjoyed for their health benefits, convenience, and great taste.

Blueberries are a no-muss, no-fuss fruit that requires no slicing or peeling – just rinse and enjoy! There are endless ways to love blueberries this summer, including the classics: adding blueberries to our cereal and salads, as well as snacking on them throughout the day.

A good source of vitamin C and fiber, you can feel good about eating, sharing, and serving blueberries. In addition, your heart might love them even more than you do, as they are certified as heart-healthy through the American Heart Association Heart-Check Food Certification Program. They are also a good source of antioxidants, and one cup of blueberries is 80 calories.

Blueberries are a good source of fiber and manganese and contain virtually no fat. Try blueberries in yogurt, fruit salad, or any salad; on waffles, pancakes, and cereal; in muffins, cookies, cakes, and pies; in smoothies or beverages; or just rinse and eat. The possibilities are endless.

With endless blueberry opportunities every day, the best way to stay ready is to keep your fridge and freezer stocked. Fresh and frozen blueberries are equally delicious and nutritious – and available year-round. When you have both on hand, you can always grab a boost.

So, go blue this summer and eat your blueberries! Happy National Blueberry Month! By the way, it is also National Ice Cream Month and National Picnic Month. The possibilities really are endless!
