GC Library’s Bookmobile Provides Several Convenient Services

Did you know that the Garland County Library has a bookmobile named Donna?

Items and services provided by Donna the Bookmobile include:

  • Browse and borrow from the mobile collection (including Lucky Day Books that cannot be reserved, Nintendo Switch games, and Movies and Shows)
  • Pick up available holds (choose bookmobile when placing items on hold)
  • Drop off returns

The library folks say, “This new service is staffed by a friendly, warm-blooded human.” Donna is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible lift.

Visit www.gclibrary.com/bookmobile to view the current schedule, which includes monthly stops at Artfully Baked and Brewed, Hot Springs Farmers and Artisans Market, Garland County Senior Center, and elsewhere. Email outreach@gclibrary.com if you have questions about Donna the Bookmobile.

If you are in central Arkansas, you can also rely on the “CALS Cruiser,” the bookmobile for the Central Arkansas Library System. “Parked Service Days” take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, where the Cruiser will be at a specific location for up to four hours.

“Lobby Stops” will occur when the bookmobile makes multiple quick stops in a single day to places like community centers and assisted living facilities. The Cruiser will also make its way to community outreach events. Anyone interested in having the CALS Cruiser visit their community can fill out the request form at cals.org/cals-cruiser or click on “CALS Cruiser Events” for the Cruiser schedule.
