Clarity in Alone Time

By Peggy Lindsey

For many women, aloneness is a negative state of being. Yet, choosing to spend time with yourself has tremendous emotional benefits, especially when handling negative emotions and experiences. These are crucial moments when we need solitude to reflect and recharge ourselves.

When facing difficult circumstances with feelings of discomfort rumbling inside, it is essential to separate ourselves from others for a little while. When we embrace the opportunity to hear our own thoughts, ask for guidance, and gain clarity on a course of action we are to take, we can then step forward confidently toward positive changes in our lives.

I remember one Sunday years ago feeling lost and a bit agitated about my situation. The walls within the house seemed to be closing in on me, and with anxiety kicking in, I had to escape for a while. I grabbed my keys, hopped into the car, and drove. With no radio playing, the silence soothed my frazzled nerves and the backcountry roads allowed me to become lost in thought. I mulled over my life, my emotions, my fears, and my options. When I pulled into the driveway three hours later, I knew what I needed to do.

As Katrina Mayer teaches, “Often the best gift you can give yourself is time alone — some time to ask your questions and listen quietly for the answers.”

So, whether it is a long walk through the park or a weekend getaway to your favorite place, providing yourself space for peace and quiet is crucial for your health and well-being. The wisdom within your own heart and soul awaits.Peggy Lindsey is a Professional Life Coach, Master Teacher of Arcing Light Energy Healing, and a Spiritual Mentor. Peggy’s passion is assisting women on their journey toward happy, healthy lives by empowering them to live more joyfully and consciously.
