Shakespeare Boring?!! NOT!!

Who says Shakespeare’s not relative and eminently entertaining? Hot Springs Children’s Dance Theatre Company (HSCDTC) once again took on the challenge of producing the ominous and intimidating works of the great William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Nights Dream.”

The comical situation the characters in the ballet get themselves into are all too familiar circumstances to both the performers interpreting the role and their fellow cast members.

“Ah, man, you’re being SWERVED!” is bantered about the rehearsal hall and Helena and Hermia are both SHOOK when they’re rejected by their lovers and they THROW HANDS, as the HSCDTC cast members work to interpret some of the all too familiar circumstances involved in the ballet.

The cast, comprised of central Arkansas finest young performers and enhanced and professional guest artists from around the country, are looking forward to sharing their enjoyment and new-found love for the four- hundred-year-old masterpiece with their family, friends and community.

A special school performance will usher in the production on May 10, at 10am. The field trip school show is open to central Arkansas teachers and their classes with student ticket prices. Contact hotspringscdt@gmail.com for more information. Opening night performance for the public will be May 11, at 7pm.

and 19; with additional Saturday matinee performances at 1:00pm., May 12 and 19.
