Halloween Spooktacular Raises Funds for ARC

The very successful June Pride Month Walk drew nearly 300 people.

The Hot Springs Pride Alliance (HSPA) will be hosting its second annual “Halloween Spooktacular” Sat., Oct. 29, 8:00 P.M. -12:00 A.M., at Whittington Place, 301 Whittington Avenue.

This fundraiser will benefit the Tuggle and Shelby Clinic AIDS Resource Center (ARC), Garland County’s only nonprofit medical clinic for HIV and AIDS treatment.

This year’s theme is “Spooktacular Sideshow,” a party that will be a carnivalesque, fun, and spooky night featuring live performances, a costume contest, dancing, fun food treats, and specialty cocktails. Tickets are available at

www.hotspringspride.org. Purchase early as capacity is limited. Ages 21+.

The announcement of the “Spooktacular Sideshow” comes after a very successful and community-engaged June Pride Month. The HSPA hosted a First Friday gallery installation at Emergent Arts, several pop-up events, a downtown Pride Walk, and the HSPA annual Pride Picnic at Arc Isle.

The Alliance wishes to express its gratitude to those that participated in and supported June Pride Month: The Hot Springs city manager and officials, the HS Police Department, and the HS National Park Rangers for their commitment to creating a safe parade route, and to Visit Hot Springs for the media exposure.

A special thank you to Emergent Arts for its continued partnership and to the Alliances’ commercial allies: Superior Bathhouse Brewery, Central Theater, SQZBX Pizza, Grateful Head Pizza, Will’s Cinnamon Shop, and Destiny’s Bake Shop. A big thank you to all the LGBTQ+ community and its allies that helped make Pride Month a success by showing up to express their pride and solidarity while helping to expand LGBTQ+ visibility in Hot Springs.

Hot Springs Pride Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage, educate, empower, and enrich the LGBTQ+ community in Garland County and the surrounding area. For more information visit www.hotspringspride.org.
