Angeles Arrien writes about royalty cards in her book, The Tarot Handbook. She provides ways to find your personal Royalty Guide Card, otherwise known as your Inner Teacher. Studying your Inner Teacher card can help clarify personal characteristics you are meant to develop and practice in this lifetime. This card may also indicate natural gifts, talents, or inner resources that come naturally to you in life.
To find your Royalty Guide Card, print your name the way you usually write it, the name you use when you think of yourself. Count the letters in your name. If the total is higher than 16, add the two digits together. For example, 27 is 2+7=9. If your number is ten, you have two guides: 10 and 1(1+0). You can find your Inner Teacher using the chart below.
Name changes that add to or subtract from your original number indicate recognition of new talents, gifts, and resources you are challenged to master. For various names you have used, simply count the letters and refer to the chart. A change in your number indicates a turning point in your life where you are beginning to actualize another aspect of yourself, indicated by the new Inner Teacher card.
