Zen for 10

Hot Springs has been home to The Yoga Place for ten years, opening its doors on July 1, 2013. To celebrate the anniversary, a free yoga class will be offered on July 14, 6:00 P.M. The class will feature Sharon Stickney (co-founder and instructor) returning to Hot Springs to co-teach the class with Karen Reeves (owner and instructor).

The class will end with a 20-minute sound bath, led by Erika Muelle, followed by a celebration featuring food, drinks, and live music by Chana Caylor. There will be door prizes, class discounts, and giveaways.

When asked about the longevity of the studio Reeves replied, “I think it is because the students know we care about them. It is important that we know their names. It matters that we offer a variety of class days and times, and modify our sequences so that the classes are approachable by everyone whether it is the person who walks in for the first time or who has been practicing with us and supporting us for ten years.

I am just so grateful for these past ten years, and to express that gratitude, I invite our community to come and celebrate with us.”

Karen Watson Reeves has called Hot Springs home since 2006. Owner of The Yoga Place, at 301 Whittington Avenue, she became a registered yoga/children’s yoga teacher in 2011. When not on the mat, Karen enjoys the beautiful outdoors of the National Park, especially from her bicycle.
