Village Chorale Presents Holiday Concert

Imagine a holiday season without all the glorious, funny, sentimental, nostalgic music! You probably can’t and neither can the Hot Springs Village Chorale.

Fans of this audition-only group know the Chorale has been delivering the icing on this wonderful holiday cake for more than 20 years.

An especially exciting aspect of the Chorale’s holiday concerts this year is the introduction of its new Music Director, Dr. Tom Bolton. With more than 40 years in music education at the university level, church music leadership, and performance as a much-in-demand tenor soloist, Dr. Bolton infuses his singers with excitement, enthusiasm, and a focus on singing together as a blended musical ensemble.

His reputation preceded him in the area when he relocated on Lake Catherine to “retire,” but that didn’t last long. A number of his former singers from the area have joined The Village Chorale for the pleasure of singing for him again.

In addition to its annual Christmas Concert on Dec. 11 at Woodlands Auditorium in the Village, the Chorale was featured at Garvan Gardens in its free holiday concert series on Tuesday, Nov. 27, and will sing again with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas in the Village on Sunday, December 2 at Woodlands Auditorium.

New arrangements of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Pooh, and the grinch.  You’ll remember that We Need a Little Christmas! And you’ll revel in Glow, a tone poem that weaves the silence and majesty of soft light on snow. Come hear the magic!
